Anyone has any info on this one? I have found specs on http://www.cbradio.nl/magnum/magnum_257hp.htm but there are no reviews there so no info on quality, ease of use etc. I can buy one and the build in frequencycounter is something that i miss on my Superstar 2000.

They are a really good radio, the only thing which lets them down is the poor build quality of the facia, knobs and buttons.
I have one here, and also have owned the Albrecht version.

I've bought it. Really like the scan function and i must agree with you, the knobs are not that good, especially the combined knobs (RF gain/Mic gain, Squelch/Power). When turning one, the other might also turn. A President mike was included in the deal, but i've ordered an Albrecht mike, which uses the preamplified feature, like the original 257 mike.

Yeticom Optima, Albrecht 485, Dragon SS485, Albrecht 5890, Jopix Itica, Radioshack 485, Landmatic LM15, Magnum 357DX, Black Hawk, Roadpro Titan, Prostar 400, Superstar 4800, Albrecht A5800
Those are other names the same radio design uses, thankfully under the case some are better than others. unfortunately the radio fascia and cases, buttons and knobs all same on every version, obviously not including the branding.

had one loved it, it had the rfx 75 on the back bought it from knight ,and it was programed from 24mhz to 30mhz, and I put a fan on it and my young bro had one and on 24mhz on Am, and how quiet it was down there, and audio or modulation was clean and no noise, and with the 5000turbo swr was up a little to 2 at the top of the freqs and at the bottom of the freqs but useable but I give it away to my young bro and regretted straight away

I have one for sale if anyone is interested. It is in fair condition and works fine on air but the display backlights don't work. I will stick an advert in the For sale section.
