Feb 25, 2018[ltr]#409[/ltr] all Welcome to my report of the Southern Area SSB Net (sometimes called the Thursday Night Net or the South Coast Net) held on the 22-02-18
My set up for the night was a CRE 8900, a standard coffin mic and a Moonraker GAP half wave on a 2.5 meter pole. Weatherwise it started off cold and by the end of the night the temperature had dropped to -3 degrees (glad i had a flask with me )

Mar 03, 2018[ltr]#410[/ltr] all With the snow and storm Emma coming, it was a last minute decision to head for the hills & run the net. So welcome to my report of the Southern Area SSB Net (sometimes called the Thursday Night Net or the South Coast Net) held on the 01-03-18
My set up for the night was a CRE 8900, a standard coffin mic and a cherokee half breed on a mag mount. Weatherwise it started off cold, as the night went on it snowed and by the end of the night the temperature had dropped to 1 degree IN the van (i was glad to have a flask with me )

WX report, it was warm (10 degrees), cloudy with a light breeze on the forest. The band was very noisy with skip coming in from Europe, which made for an interesting evening.

WX report, it was a sunny warm night with a light breeze on the forest, the temperature at the beginning of the net was 8 degrees which fell to 5 degrees by the end of the SSB net.
In the absence of the Tim CT 2116 the regular Westside Chairman, Pete CT 2275 & Roz DDB 02 were deputized to help out for the night.

all and welcome. Here is my report of the Southern Area SSB Net (sometimes called The Thursday Night Net or The South Coast Net) held on the 14-06-18. My set up for the night was a CRE 8900, a standard coffin mic and a Moonraker GAP half wave on a 2.5 meter pole.
WX report, it was a bright night on the forest with a light breeze, the temperature at the beginning of the net was 16 degress which by the end of the net had dropped to 12 degrees.
Due to heavy Qrm from the EU, the net did a bit of channel hopping until we found a clear channel 37 (27.375) USB

WX report for the forest, clear sky, a light breeze and a magnificent sunset followed by the forest being bathed in a silver light from the moon. The temperature at the beginning of the net was 17 degrees and by the end it had dropped to 9 degrees.

Please be aware that there will be no Southern Area SSB net on the 28-06-18 it will be FM only. This is due to the SSB net being part of the All Counties Activation on Wednesday 27-06-18

Jul 08, 2018[ltr]#447[/ltr] all Welcome to my report of the Southern Area SSB Net (sometimes called The Original Thursday Night Net, Southern Net or the South Coast Net) held on the 05/07/2018 My set up for the night was a CRE 8900, a standard CRE coffin mic and a Moonraker GAP half wave on a 2.5 meter pole.
WX report for the forest, clear sky, a light breeze and a magnificent sunset followed. The temperature at the beginning of the net was 19 degrees and by the end it had dropped to 16 degrees.
