I'm using a Yaesu 450d with a G-whip 40-20-10 tri-band end fed. I have various dipoles and verticals for experimenting with. I don't know how to upload pics but you all know what it looks like!

Now I'm no longer contesting I'm down to an Icom 7300 for HF, Kenwood TM-D710 for V/U, Cobwebb and Hustler 5BTV.
I do miss my Flex 6500 and Hexbeam though. Should've kept them.

Flex6500 & hex, definitely should have kept. Cost a fortune nowadays, think next time I change will be a flex. Everything is heading that way.

Heres the indoors bit (see pic).....all goes out to an old Silver Rod mounted on railings with the 27MHz coil removed and a homebreww Un-Un fitted at the feed point....makes it resonant on 18Mhz, 21MHz and 24MHz but will tune up with the Versa Tuner from 160MHz through to 50MHz with confirmed contacts on both bands. VHF and UHF taken care of with just a Watson W-7900 mounted on railings too. The Laptop is linked to the 26" TV via HDMI cable and is used as a second desktop space so you can drag across both screens. Nestled under the FT991 is an Albrecht AE6110.

Updated pretty much everything recently. Sold the 7300, and now running a IC-7610 for HF and an IC-9700 for VHF/UHF.
Antennas are currently a 80-10EFHW and Hustler 6BTV for HF, and a Diamond x.6000 tribander for VHF/UHF.

Some photos of the main kit in my small bedside radio station that I use. I am a bit limited with space as the station master has taken over the house. Not much room for me. Lol ! -Yaesu FT-991A used for HF, VHF, UHF mainly for 2m simplex and HF simplex & HF and 2m digi modes WSJTX FT8 and 2m C4FM. LDG tuner inline as sometimes 80m is twitchy in places and the built in auto tuner on the Yaesu FT-991A does not sort it. -Xiegu G90 coupled up to a variable rf amplifier that I turn down the Xiegu G90 rf to around 7 watts to omit 50 watts out the amplifier. I do favour this transceiver for simplex as it has good audio on both transmit and receive. LDG tuner inline with a SWR meter. This set up goes mobile sometimes. -Old timer Uniden Uniace 300 base station that I use for CB. -I use a Sirio Gain Master for CB and HF 10m and a LW-20 end fed long wire and sometimes a Hustler 6 BTV for the rest of the HF bands. -I use a Watson W-50 for VHF 2m and UHF 70cm.

My main radio for HF Digital modes is a stunning Kenwood TS850sat which uses 2 antennas switchable. A Marconi "L" antenna which is 28ft vertical and runs horizontal at around 50ft great for 20m /40m. 2nd antenna is an end fed which is a horizontal V at just under 60m long, great for 160m.
2nd radio is a Yaesu FT920 widebanded and this is my 17 / 15 / 11 / 10 / 6m plaything. But as yet i dont have a vertical CB antenna but im still looking . This is hooked up to an MFJ 993B tuner and just whatever wire i throw at it to do the job . Main mic is a Neewer 700 boom mic hooked up to an Alto mixer. " />

Hi Guys, thanks for your contributions so far. I haven't been on the air for a while, but still have the Icom 706 with the standard mic and the LDG ATU minimalist HF set as you can see in the original post. Forgot that I had an off centre fed dipole for 20 to 10m vertically mounted back then. Making a multi band vertical cactus style antenna when spring comes along. I would start today if it wasn't raining.
Keep sticking up them HF set ups, the more the unusual the better ie home brew or some rare boat anchor, but very importantly why you like it?!

Have you got that in a suburban back garden? If so, you’ve got better neighbours and a better local council than I have!
Very jealous!

I live on the edge of town but still needed planing permission which was granted after lots of hard work and lots of help from the RSGB , certainly worth it in the end

Oh dear Craig.....laughing my socks off after the initial groan
I hadn't realised the battle you had to get your antenna up but as you say so worth it. I couldn't even contemplate the reactions I'd get to antennas round here and why mine are safely 'hidden' in the loft - doing the job though!
Does that LCD panel plug straight into your radio for the S-meter/waterfall display? Quite impressive.
When I tidy up my cr*p-hole of a station, (been working on too many projects!), I'll be sure to pop up a picture. Not that anyone will be too impressed with my 40 odd year old Yaesu, equally old Lowe, 50 year old CRO and plethora of homemade junk Although the dual 22" monitors on my old Linux setup running WJST-X, PSKreporter & QRZ.com simultaneously with enough screen space left to pull up webSDR's looks good
Thanks Dave, (Radio Pixie), for pulling up the thread again. I do like a bit of radio 'porn'!
