Give it another month or so and the Sporadic E will be with us, we’ll get plenty of Europeans then, and when it’s strong maybe some double hops a bit further away.

Ah, you knew having twin radios would make sense Alan.
I don't even change bands on the FT anymore, just take a quick scout on the webSDR's to see if there's a flurry on the waterfall. God I'm gonna come last on this aren't I?
It's as old Roy Castle used to say, "Dedication is what you need!"
(Us old farts will laugh at that and the young'uns will say, "Who the f*** is Roy Castle!" )

Well I'm still on nowt and bound to stay that way for a little while....
....my Yaesu gave up the ghost.
Spent all day on it and finally got receive back but still no TX. Fingers crossed I'll be able to repair it.
(Sodding thing just stopped transmitting all of a sudden and then went deaf - been tracing and stripping diodes ever since!)

Again new to this but is there a specific calling frequency on 10 meters? I mainly give a call and scope about on 28.400 but never get anything

Same as me 28.400 and silence. Programmed my 991a to talk for me so calling is so easy just touch a tab on the screen so calling loads.
Cor that's cheating haha nah that's a smart bit of kit

28.400 is a bit low, you would be better going around 28.500. However there is only FM with a calling frequency (29.600) For ssb, scan around. Today SO1WS was on 28.460.
