Hi, I am Paul a young(ish) 48yr old from Manchester, Lancashire. Complete novice to Ssb, had a few CB's in the 80's, but 30mile with 4w was never far enough, although its better than most. Currently learning the bandwidths, & frequencies, and bought several books off Ebob. The CRT SS6900n is my preferred radio, as I am no tech and the 9900 is digital like most others, I think the clunky channel dial helps too, more old school, less technology. Looking forward to chatting with you, and I do hope I have asked for a CTDX correctly. A license in the near future will be achieved, as long as I stick with the interest, I believe I will. Welcome to Charlie Tango.
Callsigns are issued most days by our wonderful voluntary admin team so you shouldn't have to wait too long.
Great introduction, always good to hear others radio stories and their interests. I wish you all the best with the radio hobby and future aspirations.

There's a great bunch of people here at Charlie Tango who are more than happy to help each other with all aspects of radio. Anytime you have a question, need some help or info, want to share your experiences or indeed just 'shoot the breeze' this really is the place to be. It's almost as good as being on the radio itself!
