Subject: Mid-week Northeast Net on 27.375 USB Thu Dec 15, 2022 10:56 am
Hello all and welcome
Yes I've been out again to try and join another net.
Here is my report for the Northeast Mid-week net held on the 14-12-2022. Knowing that I'm some 200 mile south of the net, didn't deter me from giving it a go.
The net can be found on 27.375 USB and starts at 19:30 and ends at 21:00 and I guess covers around Newcastle to the North and Sheffield to the South, Hull to the East, Manchester to the West and all bits in-between.
My set up and location was the same as what I use on a Thursday night, so no amps and no power mics.
When I first turned on, my enthusiasm dropped as there were 2 stations chatting on FM, but every now and again a voice could be heard in the back ground so maybe all was not lost.
When the 2 FM stations finished their Qso for the night, I called out as I could here voices, but sadly I could hear them but they couldn't hear me.
Was it a wasted night? I don't think so.
Will I try again in the future? Yes I will.

270 miles up to the North East if you heard them Ray. I'll try and get out for it next week. Although I doubt I'd have much luck with a Sirio 4000. Mind, I have heard Kate from North Wales on the Muppet band and the breaker I was chatting to managed to contact her .

The comments, the phrases, the accents and the odd location said, makes me sure it was the net. I just hope that there is some groundwave next time I venture out on a Wednesdayand I'm also wondering if a change in location might help?
Hey, don't knock the Sirio 4000. It has and does serve me well & remember, if you can hear them your half way to working them.

Hi Steven
I hope Ozzy sees this, as he can tell you more than I can
But for now, I would say check facebook or get to the nearest hill or high ground on a Wednesday and call out.
I know from logs posted back in 2017, places like Durham, Sunderland, Scunthorpe, York & Leeds would call in.

Hi Steve, I should be on this net this evening. I'm usually up on the Yorkshire Wolds, so not really North East. There's a good spread of folks on the net usually. Andy usually starts at 1930hrs promptly and tries to bring in as many as possible. I might not be on for long this evening, bug listen out for me. 26TD133, Al on the Wolds!
