TBH Rory you'll be only using about three or four regularly you get use to hearing those ones on air.

Yes normally but also can be used on ordinary CB too

Well they were rarely used on CB years ago. I recently came back to it after I retired and was quite shocked to see how things have moved on and become far more professional and yes the Q codes are becoming pretty much the norm. I am an ex Royal Navy Radio operator and can remember most. We also had a Z code system that was pretty much the same. Sadly however there are still a few idiots out there but not so many these days.
