Hello all,

Didn't know what to use as a title..... Ok. I am at the moment waiting to take my F/L exam and have been looking at Ham clubs to join.
What ive found so far seem to have a 2mtr, data and repeater slant,,,, not the way I want to go. So does anyone know of a club that's more HF based. hopefully somewhere in the midlands.

Cheers Tom

Hello Tom,

After you pass it's up to you what direction you take in the hobby. Most clubs will have some kind of VHF/UHF net. We do an "On Air" evening once a year with HF and 6 meters VHF and UHF.

I would just join a local club that feels right for you.

73's Gary.

It's a bit of a long winded way to do it but get some of the IOTA or RSGB SSB/CW Field Day results from the RSGB contest site and have a look at what clubs entered that. If they're putting in an entry for those contests they're serious about doing HF. My former club enters them religiously but unfortunately it's probably a good 150 miles away.
