Zello Network Radio

Howdy all

I've recently come back to CB and been welcomed by the Charlie Tango DX Group.
For approx 2 years I have been using Zello network radio and was wondering if the group has a Zello channel ?

I've had a search but couldn't find anything.

If we do then i have never seen it mentioned.

I really enjoy using Zello as we can communicate regardless of distance, if the CT powers that be would agree to a CT Zello channel then I'm sure it would be a good addition.
I'd be happy to set it up or just participate, it would be great for CT members nationwide to have somewhere to talk when the propergation is poor.

Fingers crossed for you on that one but sure Victor will be along soon with something.
Can't see any reason why not and even better if you can sort it out.
Never used it myself but suppose it's like a DMR talk group.

Someone in the past has asked this question regarding a CT Zello Channel. As it didn’t happen I assume it was rejected. I will see what, if anything I can find out.


Edit: it appears there is/was one. Maybe it’s gone which would suggest it wasn’t used.

Hi guys the chap who started the channel is CT 2558 Daren I have put a call out for him but no answer,I think you need a moderator or Daren to accept you on to the channel. But there are many other channels  
Around the one I tend to use is network radios Chanel 00

If I remember correctly we rejected the idea of setting up an official Zello channel because it was felt at the time that we are a "Radio group" and despite many of us using network radios as part of our hobby it just didn't fit in with what we are about as a DX group. If that position has changed some more discussion about how it would work would be required. A member of the admin team would have to be willing to act a a moderator for the channel etc. etc.....

And CT member here in Finland on Zello 27.305, nice for me to get a nice English chit chat.

Shame really as its not to replace radio but just somewhere for like minded to meet arrange nets/skeds or just chat when conditions are poor which let's face it 75% if the time they are

as long as it doesnt go the same way some nets have gone on the 70cm users,

" you need to live this on FB so we know whose talking"

the idea is just not for me.. if i want random roomed internet chat then ill pop to teamspeak, or discord, or mIRC or the new FB community .

Its just a tool people can use to discuss things abit like an online forum oh wait ........its not radio or required just a method for folk to talk about radio or help each other get some dx
No one is forced to use it just think its a missed opportunity is all

Pondering over this thread I thought I'd chip in.
I downloaded zello years ago when considering returning to radio.
I wasn't impressed.
Recently downloaded it and less impressed. Deleted it.
Now I'm not dismissing it, it just wasn't for me, and real radio I feel has a sense of achievement.
But good luck to whatever people enjoy.

I got one last year when Fred in the shed set it up , was ok for a wile, then was so full, i could never get on, some members of the Zello group were just sitting there and talking all the time to a very small group, they had a clean up on the members, but i think i have had my Zello phone on all day, now no body is on that group,
