Here is my report for the SSB net held on the evening of Thursday 29-08-2024.
My location for the night was Radio Corner aka Winnie Pooh Land, Ashdown Forest in the county of East Sussex, were the weather was the polar opposite of the previous week. The wind and rain was replaced with high wispy clouds and a cool calm atmosphere.
My working conditions were a Solarcon A99 antenna and a older version of the Anytone AT-6666 (no amp no power mic) powered by a couple of car batteries .
The net is scheduled to start at 8 o'clock, 22:00 Hrs UK local time and finishes anytime after 11 o'clock, 23:00 Hrs .
With band conditions being noisy, full of skip, snap, crackle, pop & beeps and what sounded like someone blowing across the mic Now on with list of who checked in and was heard and or worked by the net. All stations are 26 division unless otherwise stated.

Thank you all who checked in, extra thanks to both Barry 1664 & Terry 500 from Canada, for answering the call to join the net and taking the stations they could hear.
That brings this report to an end. Thank you for reading and if you see a mistake, let me know and I will correct it.

Hell all and welcome
Here is my report for the Southern Area and South Coast SSB net held on the 5th of September 2024
I was set up in Radio Corner, Ashdown Forest in the county of East Sussex and was using a older version of the Anytone AT-6666 (no amp no power mic), powered by the same car batteries I use for the Monday PMR net, and a Solarcon A-99 antenna.
The net is held on channel 39 of the mid-block or 27.395 MHz on the Lower Side Band (LSB) and is scheduled to start at 20:00 Hrs local UK time, it then runs on to 23:00 Hrs or beyond depending on the conditions or who is on air.
The weather was a typical Autumn (fall) night, rainy, grey, wet, overcast and foggy.
Now on with list of call ins, check ins and who heard and or worked who, and remember all stations are 26 division unless otherwise stated.

Thank you all who called in, the band conditions were full of the Canada and America, later in the evening I did her Melbourne Australia DXing to the West coast of America on channel 38 LSB.

Hello and welcome
Here is my report for the Southern Area & South Coast SSB Net held on Thursday 12th of September
The net is held on channel 39 on the FCC band or 27.395 MHz using Lower Side Band (SSB) and is scheduled to start at 8 o'clock (20:00 Hrs) UK time and finishes from 11 o'clock (23:00 Hrs) onwards.
My location was Radio Corner, Ashdown Forest in the county of East Sussex, were I set up my older version of the Anytone AT-6666 (no amp no power mic) and the Solarcon A-99 antenna.
It was a cool clear night allowing the half moon to shine brightly. Later clouds did form on the horizon and this highlighted the lightning in the channel.
Band conditions were full of mixed up and mashed up voices, roger peeps, static crashes thanks to the lightning and the squiggly noises.
Now on with the check ins and who was heard and or worked by the net.

Hello & welcome
Here is my report for the Southern Area & South Coast SSB held on Thursday 19/09/2024.
The net is held on channel 39 of the mid-block or 27.395 MHz using the mode of LSB & is scheduled to start at 20:00 Hrs local UK time and finishes anytime after 23:00 Hrs
My location for the net was Radio Corner, Ashdown Forest in the county of East Sussex approximately 33 mile or 52 km south of the Capital London.
The weather at Radio Corner was a beautiful autumn evening with a spectacular sunset and moon rise, the strange thing was that from this location I could not see the North or South Downs due to the haze, fog, low cloud or a combination of all 3.
My set up for the night was the trusty Anytone AT-6666 (no amp no power mic) and the Solarcon A-99 antenna up on a pole.
The band condition were rough n tough, with the US of A at the beginning, followed by Europe and then Russia. But in between all this we did manage (somehow) to make contact with Wales and Birmingham Airport.
Now on with the list of check ins and who heard and or worked who on the net. All stations are 26 division unless otherwise stated.

Welcome one and all
Here is my report of the Southern Area & South Coast SSB Net, held on Thursday 10-10-2024
With the Solar Data/Propagation forecast indicating that most bands were closed and conditions poor, but with a slim chance, of glimpse a of the Northern lights. I headed to Radio Corner, Ashdown Forest (in the county of East Sussex) and set up my car battery powered Anytone AT-6666 and Solarcon Antenna, hoping to make the best of the night.
The weather was cold and still with a temperature of about 6 degrees C or 42 degrees F at the beginning, this dropped to below 3 degrees C or about 37 degrees F by the time I packed down.
The net is scheduled to start at 8 o'clock in the evening UK local time, and is held on channel 39 FFC or 27.395 MHz on Lower Side Band. The net runs until 11 o'clock in the evening, but can go on until Friday morning.
Just before the the start at 8 o'clock Toby (Tango 187) took this picture
Now on with the list of check ins and who worked and or heard who. All stations are 26 division unless otherwise stated.

Hello & welcome
Here is my report for the SSB net held on Thursday 17-10-2024.
With the full "Hunters" moon on show, I drove into a busy Radio Corner and made my way to a clear spot. I parked up and started to set up the Solarcon A-99 antenna and Anytone At-6666 (no amp no power mic). This got some funny looks form those who had started to lose interest in the big bright full moon.
Once set up, I joined the few looking at the moon in the East, there was suddenly automatic gun fire from the MOD site in the valley, I looked round to the West and saw a line of 20+ Starlink satellite's.
As the car park empty, I tuned the Anytone to channel 39 on the mid-block (FCC) or 27.395 MHz using Lower Side Band and got ready to start the net at 8 o'clock or 20:00 Hrs local UK time.
I put a call out and the first station to call in was. . . .

Welcome everybody
Here is my report for the Southern Area & South Coast SSB Net held on Halloween Thursday 31-10-2024.
My set up for the night was the Anytone AT-6666 (no amp, no power mic) powered by a good battery and a not so good battery, a Solarcon A-99 antenna all connected with some high quality coax which is a lot better than the stuff I use on the PMR net.
The net is scheduled to start around 8 o'clock local UK time and finishes anytime after 23:00 Hrs . It can be heard on FCC channel 39 or 27.395 MHz and is on Lower Side Band.
Radio Corner, Ashdown Forest in the County of East Sussex was my location for the night, where the weather was cool, still, starry night.
Now on with the list of check ins and who could hear and work who. All stations are 26 division unless other wise stated.

Thank you all who called in and stuck with us on a rough n tough night. We started the night with the U S of A, stomping in and making it difficult to contact local stations. It then went quiet and then later on Italy came in causing a bit of interference.
If the net was a boxer, it left the ring battered, bruised, and with a bloody lip!

Hello and welcome
Here is my report for the Southern Area & South Coast SSB Net held on Thursday 14th of November 2024.
The net is held almost every Thursday night and is scheduled to start at 20:00 Hrs or thereabouts and can go on for 2 or more hours, even reaching into Friday morning. It is held on channel 39 on the mid-block or 27.395 MHz using LSB.
My location was Radio Corner, Ashdown Forest in the county of East Sussex and for the amateurs out there GB-0251, JO-bb-01 & GFF-0319 My working conditions are a early version of the Anytone AT-6666 (no amp no power mic), powered by a 2 car batteries , connected to Solarcon A-99 antenna.
On the night, the band conditions were flat, it was like someone had turned off the skip, no USA, no Canada, no Europe not even a 2 kilowatt Italian station .
So with things oh so quiet, I called out to start the net.
Here is the list of check ins and who heard and worked who.

It was a busy net and I passed around as many as I could. I think I may have missed a few QSK, break break stations who were acknowledged, but not available when called back. It is a consequence of a busy net where patience is needed. I hope most, if not all enjoyed the night and I look forward to working you all in the up coming months and on the 9th anniversary net next year.
Part 1 of a 2 part series is here
Thank you all who called in and made the night a success.

After 3 hours the net came to an end.
The groundwave was amazing on the night, with Wales & Grimsby being heard on the south coast and Tom in London working Rod in Wales like he was just down the road.
Here are some of the distances covered. Rod RU 08 to Tom RC 402 was about 140 miles (225 km) Ray CI 2290 to Rod RD 15 was about 168 miles (271 km) Steve KP 441 to Rod RU 08 was about 149 miles (240 km) Wayne WE 355 to Ray CI 2290 was about 115 miles (186 km)
Here is a map of contacts
Thank you all who called in and sorry if you tried and was missed. I chose to give the distance stations priority over the locals, who can work each other every net night.
That's about it, thank you for ready and if you have spotted a mistake, or worse I have missed you off the list, let me know and I can correct it.
** Don't forget the memorial net for Roz AMC 02, this coming Thursday 23rd of January 2025 **
