Greetings, introduction & call sign request (Issued)

Hello, I am an old school CB user from 1980, Just happened to come across a You Tube Video which showed an RTL-SDR Dongle. This has sparled and rekindled me into the world of radio. Went to my local Ham club for the first time last night to sort out getting my Foundation licence. One chap there suggested that i come here to join and get a call sign for DX use in the meantime so here i am. I will be mobile for most of the time and the plan is to use flowerpot antennas mainly from flagpoles in my campervan as i travel around. very excited to get back into this again.

Always good to hear from someone that has had their radio passions rekindled and especially by like minded helpful people.

Callsigns are usually issued most days by the wonderful voluntary admin here so keep an eye out for when you are allocated one.

May I just wish you the very best with your Foundation studies and well done for finding such a helpful local Amateur Radio club who are sure to help you along the path. (We do have friendly helpful people here too and exactly what the forum is for - they helped me along to achieve my Ham radio ticket too. )

Hi Lee, I'm glad you're joining it's a really great club. I moved to the midlands last November so I'll not be at many of the meetings anymore. I'm hoping to come to the next one and will definitely remain a member there. Alan Betts is a truly knowledgeable man and head of training for the RSBG also author of the study material you're more than likely going to be using for the course. You're in great hands there, good luck!!
