Not me. Any success with an air rifle in my hands would be like Han Solo's lucky shot at the Sarlacc tentacle in Return of the Jedi.. never had great sight and it's getting worse as years roll on having to use different glasses for various things. But glad you've got another outdoor hobby where you can play radio too if you want, my other pastimes restrict radio in combination somewhat

My eyesight is proper knackered for shooting. I got marksman in my final APWT before I left the Forces nearly 30 years ago. A few years ago at a motorsport event at Santa Pod a company had a small mobile .22 range set up, pay a few quid and pop 10 rounds down the range. Converted AK47 and M4A1 rifle with red dot sight. I got a great grouping, shame it was all to the bottom left corner of the target. The guy running the range even put some rounds down himself because he thought the sights might have got shifted but no they were bang on.

I used to like shooting but I was defibbed a few times and I now have involuntary hand twitches so gave up. Safety first

As young teens my friends and I had gat guns along with survival knives that had various tools in the hollow handle that we used to take camping, so I recognize what a .177 pellet is. But all other terms and names in this thread, though sounding dang saucy, read like Chinese to me

In my opinion, the best route for young people in the UK is to learn respect for all guns by obtaining their shotgun certificate. It's THE only route to responsible gun ownership, and the very best introduction to shooting, country and sporting values. God, I sound soooo opinionated but, just like you, I talk from experience!

22lr ideal for rabbits nice when moderated hmr17s are also nice but unable to mod those as we use composite supersonic rounds hehe on the 2k we shoot we dont bother with foxes so no need to go bigger
