Hi there, I used to be a real CB addict when I was living in Paris, France back in the 80s using a base station Excalibur SSB using the unofficial call sign Miura. Having moved to the UK more than a decade ago, I recently decided, out of pure nostalgia, to get into it again since I am now living in a house located in Barnsley, small village very close to Cirencester in Gloucestershire. To that effect I sourced a home base station radio namely the Ranger RCI-69 very closely based on my old Excalibur rig. I also purchased an AV-101 Astroplane antenna which I will very shortly mount on my roof. With your help, I’m looking forward to properly get back into the hobby. Many thanks. Gilles Coury

Welcome to the forum Gilles. It is very nice to see someone else coming back to CB in the Ciren area. It's pretty quiet locally, but there are a couple on and a few in Swindon, mostly around the 555. I am looking forward to the Spring when the skip should hot up again.
Interesting your move from France to UK, I think there's more people that choose to move the other way out of the UK But Barnsley village is very nice. I have been driving through on Fridays to Ablington where my daughter has been doing some work at kennels there.
