HiPeeps
Firstly let me introduce myself, and a little more about my past experiences withradios.
My Name is Tom, and although have been off air for quite a few years, have decided to take the plunge again and see what's out there on the airwaves.
I started off way back in the "Good old days" pre FM Legislation, with an old JAWS radio, a length of RG 58 and a biscuit tin with aDV27 !!
When CB was legalised in 81, being a responsible user, went out got a nice shiny new Audioline 341 along with a borrowed SWR meter, and relocated the DV from the biscuit tin to the Ford Cortina, and spent many an hour talking to everyone local to my QTH.
Then one day the skip arrived.......................and that was that, I was no longer satisfied with local" Copies" the DX bug had well and truly bitten me :-)
Over the years have had many radios, mainly Ham Int'l but a few Cobras and Superstars, finally ending up with a RCI2950 before eventually the "Bucketmouths" and the silent keyers forced me off the airwaves.
So fast forward a few years, and I am dipping my toe in the wonderful world of Radio.
I;m based in Southern Lanarkshire in Scotland, and would like a callsign to restart DX'ing again, as as far as I can tell the main radio clubs that I was a member off, have all folded :-(
If the unit number of 1537 is not already taken then I would like to be allocated that
Hope to hear you on the airwaves soon

Hi Tom,
Welcome to Charlie Tango.
Great introduction there with a long and varied CB history which is always good to see. Glad to also see that you've already been active on the forum too.
CB has definitely changed from the old days with as you say clubs disappearing etc. We'll unfortunately never be able to bring back the great operators either who sadly have fallen SK but always good to welcome back old hands to the airwaves. Sadly there are still a few 'bucket mouths' about!
You just need to do one more thing to obtain a call sign as per the instructions on this section which is to put the town/city you live in or near on your profile. Once that is done admin responsible will be able to issue you a call sign. (Also looks like 1537 might be free!)
Certainly worth being back on the airwaves as we climb up the next solar cycle and hopefully we get some great 'skip'.
All the best, Victor
