Not like CB in the 80's? Thank God, eh?! Wink

All those swearing kids and wannabe DJ's practicing their music transmission capabilities......

Oh wait, in some areas that hasn't changed except the kids became swearing adults. Very Happy

Joking aside depending on where you live CB activity is either extremely limited or bustling but definitely not like the wall to wall, no channel free activity in the 80's. But we may look back with rose-tinted glasses never realising it all died a death for most not too many years after legislation.

Those that either stuck with their CB activity or became involved later definitely have a different attitude making great DX transmissions with SSB functionality, (and nowadays legally too! cb now and in the 80s (Introduction only) 1f44d ) or involved in very professional and friendly type nets. All good stuff.

Even then there are still types around that will do their very best to annoy such exemplary and enjoyable radio activities with foul language, music playing or keying up with their now multiple-roger-beeps radios.

If you're in an area with some great and friendly CB activity then do your very best to get involved and spread the word. (Many here do and write up some great Net reports.)

For some people returning to CB the changes can be a bit of a shock...but then times change and you're not very likely to find an Athena store to grab the latest poster either. (Whilst wiping the sauce off your clothes from the Wimpy burger you just ate. Wink )

All the best,
Victor
