Hi all, it’s been 28years since I gave up the cb mainly because of all the muppets, however times have changed and the air waves are a lot clearer. On recent few weeks I have spoken to a ct member in Alloa this fella was brand new, made me realise how much I missed the cb and how small the world is.I am at present using a York 863 Homebase which I have owned forever, a ss6900 for the bands and would like to do my amateur licence in the near future, any hoo it’s a big cheery for now,the York calls.

Hello and welcome Pedro. There are still Muppets on. You just have to work around it.
I admit to being a bucket mouth and occasional DJ as a young un. Probably annoying to older and more serious users, But I wouldn't go on channels keying up and ruining peoples chat.
I'd love to see CB radio as busy as it was early eighties , unfortunately the more that's on the more hassle it will create. But I read a lot saying they left because of it. When the best thing to of done would of been to ignore it and work around it. I remember having friends I chatted to and we had codes for certain channels to go to if mic keyers etc came on. It became a bit of fun to lose them for a while on 40 channels but of course USB and LSB would of lost them much easier.
There's a lot of empty channels now need filling up though.
Anyway I'm ranting, good luck
