Hi everyone, my name is Giles and I'm in Bridgend South Wales. I have been on this forum for a few years when I tried to get back into radio comms but due my close proximity to a high voltage power line, it just destroyed any chance of receiving or getting out with any clarity. I am now moving to a new house with no pylons in sight and will setting up asap once initial move necessities are dealt with . My radio history foes back to 1979 after watching Convoy with my father at the cinema, he was a TV engineer and had contacts who could get AM rigs, he got hold of a couple of Uniden CB's that a mate of his had in for repair so we setup 1 up as a base station and the other in his works van. Those days it as very busy and a great laugh, met loads of people locally and made some good friuends. went to FM when it was made legal with 2 YORK CB's I had a 863 at home and my dad the smaller 861 in the van although we stuck with AM with the Unidens and later a couple of Presidents SSB and a Cobra. I tried getting back into the hobby a few years buying a President Grant2 and a CRT6900 for comparison as I liked the look of the CRT as a old school looking SSB radio. Anyway, at last I'm moving this week away from the interference of a HV powerline and hope to get on the air very soon once I've settled in and as it looks like CB and DXing has become slightly more "formal" than it was I am kindly requesting a CT call sign going forward. My CB old time handle has alwats been Tigga or Tiggah (as in Winnie the Pooh)

Cheers Gary, I thought I had a call sign allocated but the guy that replied to my initial contact via email couldn't find it in the directory I suspect. Thanks for digging that out, I'll be putting it to use soon as.
