Travelled out on Friday from the home QTH in Lincolnshire to Northampton. Only activity of any significance that I found was on 19 FM when I was getting near to Wellingborough. When I tried to break-in I was told by some bloke that it was his channel. Huh? Anyway, tried again later on the Muppet Band and was either ignored when hearing people or simply could not raise anyone when quiet. Had hoped to raise someone/anyone on the triple 5 but did not have any success on there either in Peterborough or Northampton. There was quite a lot of DX on the return journey to be fair though. On the way out I did have a short/ nice QSO with DT-470 from up around Skeggy as I was approaching the Spaulding area. He had heard me calling out on the triple 5 and had answered. Top Bloke. Have spoken to him before. Other than that pretty quiet unless you count Kermit and his friends around Welly/Northampton. Travelling out very early mornings and returning early to mid-afternoon about every eight weeks or so. Anyone about who wants a quick contact or possibly even a bit of a rag chew when I am passing through that would be excellent! 73s Wally/Red Rooster P.S. Still looking to get my base set up going and that should be this week with any luck. I have QSO's with Mike in Crete and Danny305 in S.C. from the drive static mobile. Pretty chuffed and excited by that! Some nice local contacts on FM and SSB as well including DT-470 mentioned above and also FT-022 who North of Skeggy amongst others. Worth a call out if passing through on 27.555 and sometimes 19 FM. Top blokes. Sometimes it can be dead for two or three days and then you can have an excellent two or three in row. Thought at one juncture something might be up with the rig and might need some help to solve an issue. Nope, just the way it is at times. Not bad since since September or whenever it was I joined I think? If new, hang in there! Anyway 73s again to all and to Mike....I have posted! Wally/Red Rooster

It's the same here in Doncaster, channel 19 is like the Superbowl on channel 6 am. I travel around the UK and use a ranger 2950 , somedays I hear and work some decent stations , other days nothing , I'll keep an ear open when I'm around the Peterborough and Northampton area and also Skegness
