Subject: Campervan Static Setup Tue Nov 22, 2022 3:33 pm
Hi All
Just looking for some advice on a antenna for my campervan.
I am looking at getting a pole which would be inserted into the ground and then mounting an antenna onto that.
This would only be used when parked up.
The van has a plastic roof even though I have a springer on a metal roof rack (grounded to the metal body)
Thanks in advance. Will

I use a drive on plate and can insert Aluminium poles or a fibre glass pole, which allows me the choice of a metal Silver Rod style antenna or a wire T2LT antenna.
Hopes this gives you some ideas

Hi there Will. Just found this post! I have a campervan too and the same with a GPR Roof. I mount a red devil or a 1/4 wave with a mag mount on my bonnet. SWR is 1.1 to 1,2 and get out very well with that setup. It’s also very portable when touring. Oh and I use an angle connector so the antenna is upright from the angle of the bonnet. I hope this helps?
Regards Bob.

I will be taking my SS9900 touring France for 3 months again this year. I won’t be using it mobile so I will be making a couple of T2LTs, one for 10m one for 11m and throwing them over the nearest tree. Enjoy your travels.
