Welcome to Charlie Tango.
Good to have you aboard and I hope your journey into the radio interest is a good one. There are many helpful members here who are only too happy to answer any questions you may have and as you mention many useful postings here to glean information from.
For me to be able to issue you a call sign I will need your QTH as the town/city you live in or near Maui being a bigger island than most imagine. You can enter the details by clicking on the 'Profile' button at the top of the website when you are logged in or let me know here and I will enter it for you.
Once that is done it will be a pleasure to allocate you a call sign.
