At long last my Finnish radio shop has these in stock, will be trying it on the house roof, all metal roof, then on the car ,static mobile, had a WIllson mag on many roofs here in Finland, work very well for me,so will be seeing how the tank whip does for local radio.

Had one on my first car, a Datsun 120Y FII doing the best I could as a teenager to look like the bandit. It worked very well until I was stopped and told to take it off for safety reasons. I'm sure you'll do well both local and DX with it.

Gary's given the general age of the car away lol, I was just going to say more than I can count on my fingers and toes. Mine was a few years after that, only paid £100 for it, so you can imagine the condition, but I thought it was cool.
Glen, sorry to send your thread OT, the tank whip just sent me down memory lane. Happy you've received your tank whip. Are you getting it up on your roof this weekend? Do let us know how you get on with it.
For anyone who has a metal roof or a metal shed, a tank whip can be a great nearly invisible option for those who don't want to / can't put up a large noticeable antenna.
