I spotted a Yaesu 991 on Evilbay the early hours of Tuesday morning and decided to raid my savings account. It was supposed to be delivered Thursday, but driver ran out of time, it was delivered Friday and driver left it in unsecured lobby of the other block of flats, luckily was tracking it and dashed over to grab it.
After setting it all up, I finally managed to get FT8 working and tried out 20m, first contact was Kenya, followed a few QSO's later by Algeria and later in the evening Ecuador, these are all new countries for me which is a very good start.
What with the power increase for Foundation and my newly installed 132ft end fed in the attic, things certainly seemed to have improved for me. I am certain the FT991 is pulling in more signals than the FT950, and I am very happy with the results.

Well done with the FT991 and glad that it's giving you some good results.
(I think I'd have been fraught with worry delivered unsecured like that!)
That's some good contacts there and must be great to have them in the logs, it certainly seems that your set up is serving you well.

Nice one Mark. I had the ft-450 before i got my ticket then after i got the 991a in fact i got 2 the twins lol. Had all sorts since Icom 7300 FTDX-10 FT-710 are all sat on my desk along with the remaining 991a. I will never part with that radio even tho i don't use it that much now. Cracking all rounder if you ask me. Only the waterfall thing that is different on mine.
