Hello everyone, and a special shoutout to John 123—you always seem to be the quickest to respond to call sign requests!
My name is Ray, and I'm from the USA, or "across the pond" as some might say. My journey with CB radios began in the early to mid-70s when they first hit the market here, and you could snag a state-of-the-art (and here's a laugh) Realistic radio for $49.99 US.
A three-year stint in the military put my CB interests on hold until I started truck driving in the 90s, where the CB became a vital tool of the trade.
More recently, a neighbor who's a Ham operator noticed my converted Galaxy 66 gathering dust in the garage and decided it was high time for me to dive back into the world of radio communication. And so, a new chapter begins.
I'm excited about the prospect of DX/Freebanding and would like to request a call sign. I am 10-10 for Gary or Victor.
