| Is there any possible way to manually input desired frequency into the TYT MD380 handheld DMR radio? I have the Retrivis UHF DMR version and its possible with that one but not with the VHF one.
Any ideas?

| The MD380 does not have a VFO.
You can only edit existing channels using the "Program Radio" option in the menu. If you don't see the "Program Radio" then you'll need to enable it from the software.
On my MD380/RT3 i created a new zone with 16 blank channels 8 analogue and 8 dmr so i could add new channels whenever i needed them but now i have my RT82 i don't need to do that anymore. |

| I don't have one anymore but the software is free from some repeater sites. The usb cable came with the ones I've had. Was easy to program once I watched a few YouTube vids.

| Morning. I have a Retevis RT3s ()GPS) DMR radio.
I have programmed it with VHF/UHF freqs simplex. But having trouble with Brandmeister talkgroups. I have not got a ID for dmr yet, but I would like to know how to access the repeater system to join Brandmasteir or other DMR systems and how to find color codes and slots.
What is My local repeater to join these groups?
please help

| Hello David, To access the BM network you must first get a DMR ID. You can do that here https://register.ham-digital.org/ I access the https://brandmeister.network/ using a Jumbospot hot spot and Pi-Star software because my local repeater is a Phoenix host. I would have a look at this on you tube to give you an idea of what is involved https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DDZMY_6qjjI&t=583s Do a google for programming a codeplug for your model of radio to get that side of things sorted out. It can be a steep learning curve but if I can do it anyone can! 73's Gary. | |
