Hi all
I started out on CB back in the 1970's and 80's where I used to run a General Electric 40 channel AM FM rig with a DV27 twig on my Mk 1 Ford Escort I used to get out quite well on the standard 4 watts locally which was fantastic and also belonged to the local breakers club I also tried the DX route and was quite successful with this getting copies as far a field as the US and the continent
I am now a Licensed HAM Operator but would also like a CT Call sign for use on 11 meter if possible
Regards

Hi Graham,
Welcome to Charlie Tango DX.
Shouldn't take long to get a CT callsign issued, our fellow volunteer admin Mr Gary Wilson is pretty fast at issuing them.
Nice intro, threw me back a few years with mention of DV27s on old Escorts
I've noticed you have a CRT SS9900, just that we've had someone recently ask about a problem with variable power on SSB modes. Is that something you've experienced or maybe shed some light on?
All the best, Victor

Hi and thanks for the welcome to the group
Just as a reply to Victors question this is a fairly new rig to me and I can say it is a brilliant little rig powerful for DX across to Sweden and Italy and further afield so far good reports I have been using a Midland 248 XL Multi which is a standard 4 Watts so needed a bit more power for those copies farther afield without using a burner Good old days never forgotten I met my first XYL on this was all the rage then now its more towards SSB 27.555.00 if you get a look in very busy QSY comes to mind but I have had some good contacts on this but need a CT callsign as not to use my Ham one currently running this rig CRT SS9900 with a Sirio 5000 Performer SWR 1.5:1
