Well put Victor, actually if we lived in fear of everything that we do (with in reason) we would do nothing, how boring life would be .
Enjoy your radio hobby every body.

Nice one Martin
Really rattles my cage when I hear fear mongering nonsense, especially when it comes to radio.
I came back to CB because I found out that mid-block, AM/SSB were all officially allowed and the hobby had become an unlicensed activity. Couldn't believe it at first and was so happy to verify it with Ofcom. Finally, after all these years of angst, mumbling and moaning about CB it was all left to it's own devices for people to enjoy.
For me it was an almost historic moment, like the Berlin wall coming down and the end of the ' Cold War'. A ridiculous fear had been ended. No more 'duck & cover' manoeuvres, no more 'secret bunkers', you can come out and enjoy the sunshine.
If only I'd known sooner.....which is why I like to let as many people know as I can!
We get loads of members that come along to Charlie Tango and similar places, surprised shocked and even happy to hear that 'news'. Probably perplexed as I was that it's old 'news' too!!
CB radio, AM, SSB, antennas, even a little more watts than usual, (), doesn't kill, maim or otherwise injure anybody....
....even if it still puts a flea in some people's ears!
I echo your sentiment Martin, "Enjoy your radio hobby everybody"
73s to you all!

I agree all the scare mongering will at some point put people off coming back to CB or new people coming to the hobby , Just off subject for a second, l like to have a moan about councils anyway the way they do things in different boroughs , especially mine the cockups they have done in my area in past year or so ,rant over lol
