Subject: 300 QSO's total today Sun Apr 30, 2023 10:40 pm
Have hit a total of 300 FT8 QSO's today, mostly Europe with a smattering of the USA and Caribbean, 300th was Saudi Arabia. Have been heard as far as New Zealand and didn't quite make Brazil, initial contact but no confirmed QSO. I would've had a few more as I lost 138 contacts when Windows went belly up, my favourite so far is our own Alan in North Wales. Am mostly working 20m and 30m as other bands caused me issues with my internet, that is now sorted out as full fat fibre went in this Thursday gone. This is all since Friday 14th of April with an indoor antenna, so am pretty pleased overall.

Passed 500 contacts tonight, pretty pleased with that. A couple of nights ago had half a QSO with Brazil, he 73'd me, but I had no confirmation my end, it would've been my furthest to date. USA East coast was lit up a couple of days back and there were more than Europe showing on GridTracker. Managed China, so that was one for the book as I only have 3 Asiatic contacts in the log.

I find that east coast lights up on 30m.

Breezed through 800 contacts today, 800th was looking to be South Africa but didn't make QSO after initial contact.
Notable QSO's are Brazil, Uruguay. Bonaire and Israel, put out a CQ about a week back and had New Zealand and Australia answer but again no QSO on 20m. Am slowly edging towards 1000 and then will switch over to voice contacts. I've got to take the plunge at some point

They soon mount up. I do some voice/phone but mainly ft4/8. Just gone over the 39k mark yesterday 2.5 years.

Just hit 1000 FT8 QSO's, and about 50 FT4's. 57 countries so far, added a European one that had been eluding me, North Macedonia today Now I need my microphone for the FT950 to turn up and will then try to get some voice action.

Am making steady progress towards 1500, just a few more to go. Had a good day a few days back with my first African contact, probably the closest you can get with Morocco, also Indonesia, my furthest, and my first West Coast USA.
Until I get my antenna run properly in the loft, 30m FT8 is starting to look like a top secret document that has been heavily redacted. My cleaner has said he will run it for me, we are waiting until it cools off as it is too hot for man or beast up there right now. Also, some bands are pretty difficult to work, but 30m and 10m are keeping me occupied for now, 20m is OK, although I do really have to work to get any QSO's.
