Hi. Ray.

Sorry to hear about ur decision to pull the plug on FM Southern
net. I enjoyed ur net 12mths ago on the Hi. As I'm on the edge of
TX range it's difficult in the low & EU E. It's a pity the net was only
started 3/4yrs ago on slide down the trough. Mothball it for 12/18
mths. If there's an interest Go again. My local net Homesteaders
is also struggling we used to have 15/20 op's regularly. Last wk
only 8 the wk before 3/4. I'm hoping to be around for the next Hi.
As it'll be my last. I've seen 5 Hi's & Lo's in my lifetime. Try & get
everyone on FM to join the SSB net & keep that alive for 12/18 mth
Good luck with ur endeavours. 73's 51's Mike 2201/FB855/UK164

Hi. Ray.

Sorry to see the -1 on ur rep. After all you've done the last 3yrs for
the Southern & Eastbourne nets. Sorry I probably won't be able to
join u on either till WX improves + I now have a disabled Xyl on top.
We had a nice Autumn meet on Homesteaders today with 14 op's
@ WSM. Alan 113 Sid/Marg. Ian 252 Mick/Elaine PD77 Tony TM03
4 Alan/Dawn 1654 etc. We meet twice yearly in June/Oct. Could u
arrange similar for Southern? Good luck/Dx. 73's Mike 164.

Hi Mike

It did seem a bit strange me getting a -1 on my rep, i guess it goes to show that you can't please some people Wink
I read your reports of the various nets/contacts you make and i know we will have a Qso again in the near future Smile
Tim and i did put the idea out there about a "southern" meet up, which did get some interest, but we couldn't take it any further. The 1st DDB net meet, held on Devils Dyke, was a big success and i hope will become a regular thing.

I took to local high ground last night and made several calls until around 8.30 but nothing heard, flicking around the uk band i was pleasantly surprised at how busy some channels were, returning to channel three, two stations were heard but they did not reply to my qsk`s, probably not the best of nights with the heavy down pours to go static.Smile

Hi John

Well done for getting out and about. Did you head to the forest or another high spot?
I wasn't able to get out on Thursday night due to my van (mobile shack) breaking down Sad  and I'm not sure if I will make it out next week (24-10-19) Crying or Very sad

Hope to catch up with you another night.

Hi all and welcome to my report of the Eastbourne FM net held on Thursday the 14-11-2019.

Having been away due to van issues, it was good to set up in the back garden of Winne The Pooh or Ashdown Forest and get back on the air Smile

My set up was the CRE 8900, standard coffin mic, KL 203P and a 1/2 wave antenna.

The weather was wet, some wind and foggy, at one point i couldn't see to the otherside of the car park.

So at just after 8 , i was about to put a call out when i heard a voice calling for a contact Very Happy which got the evening rolling. So without further delay, here is the list of stations who called in.

1.  CT 11111--John--Tunbridge Wells--Kent
2.  CT 2018--Fred--Burgess Hill--West Sussex
3. Myself--CT 2290--Ray--Ashdown Forest--East Sussex

I think a good night was had by all, we went down memory lane to remember classic and not so classic Si-Fi film and TV shows.

At 21:30ish the net closed down and i moved on 27.395 USB for the Southern and South Coast net

Until next time 73
