| I used to use a K40 in the 1970’s and have a Sirio 4000 or 5000 in the garage which I haven’t used in years! I’m sure Technology has moved on and I thought I would ask everyone what works best for them...looking forward to replies and reasons why | |

| My weapon of choice is a Wilson 1000. It's a loaded quarter wave big but works well. Top quality but expensive.

| I've used a President Texas since they became available in this country and I've put it up against the Sirio's, Tank whip's, Predator 10k and all the other so called great mobile antenna's. All in the same parking spot, same triple mag, always the very lowest of SWR, same power at the same time to the same station 8 miles away and only the Sirio 4k came within touching distance of the Texas. Discontinued now but I think you can still get the from Stateside. They are 7ft tall tho.
Just my Tuppence worth.

| Not tried too many but for me it's the Sirio HP4000. A test I did about 12 years ago on a Ford Mondeo with a bootlip mount. I found a very marginal station on FM on the Sirio, swapped to a full length 1/4 wave and the signal became scratchier, swapped back and the signal came back. Not very scientific but it's what I found | |

Laws of physics haven't changed. The longer it is the better it'll work no matter what the market bollocks claims the manufacturers make. And no there's no such thing as a 5/8 wave or 7/8 wave mobile antenna no matter what Sirio say. Sirio 5000 for me. 102" tank whips are a bit impractical nowadays. | |
