i have a rama frequency counter it shows the correct channel when tx but when idol it either a 2 or 1 digit number going up and down which is annopying any help please

Unfortunately that's what happens with older kit. You get drift in component values as they age. Chances are it's settled to the point where it's an "inbetweeny" value on what would be the next digit to the right hence it going up and down.
Other than replacing some of the components and doing a realignment not a lot else can be done.
Just as an aside does it do it when you disconnect the antenna?

Definitely what I said then. Just wanted to remove any possibility of it being anything to do with something coming down from the antenna.
