Had problems getting out this morning.

Tried to call CT 069 this morning but I think I need to get my antenna up higher, all the best to everyone on the 305,73's

You do realise that CT069 QTH is down in Kent which is quite a trip from Ware and those Excalibur antennas arnt that good for long distance, long distance use you need a bigger antenna TBH ie: Silver Rod 1/2 wave or 5/8 wave version or Antron 99, or Gainmaster.

Did you mean CT061 Dave ,even if it was which you should get him from your QTH I would still get rid of that Excalibur antenna mate there not very good TBH mate

Yes you are right I got it higher than the building and i still can't get even get out to Hertford,it is going in the bin.

You can buy a Silver Rod 5/8 or a Sireo 5/8 wave for about £30/£40  it's not worth getting a 1/2 wave really TBH unless you got awkward neighbor's cos the 5/8 is alot bigger than a 1/2wave whatever you choose you'll get out miles if put it up high have a look on here in CB base antenna section http://www.kcb.co.uk ,I use a Gainmaster and from my QTH in North London I can hear most of the 305 network

I have ordered a silver rod 1/2wave today,cos I live in a flat and should not cause problems.

Nice one mate, as I said either will work better than that Excalibur crap , you'll see the difference.
