| Hi from Blue Boy, personal Tom, in North Manchester. 66 year old once avid CBer when the aunty mary rigs first came in in the 70's. Too much foul language, music playing and general bad behaviour led me away. Got myself a TTi 660 from Maplins just before they closed. Nice little rig that I use mobile. Never was keen on home base simply because I used cb for the road. Now getting into it a little with a silver rod and a 5 star. Like to make my own antennae as well and have a wire di-pole that's equalling the silver rod. Both quite low mounted. Not into burners. I have requested a call sign but don't think I did it in the right place. Try this and wait - I realise there are problems and can be patient..... Thank you.... | |

Welcome along, you'd be one of the few based on what/who I've heard since being back on. Personally I don't see the need to run over 4 whisky at the moment since my antennae is getting me out really well, further than I can copy anyway. I kind of feel it's a bit unfair to push out further than that, potentially talking on top of other folk's overs and not knowing it. When I get a better home base arrangement than my homebrew on a fence post and can pull in more distant signals then I might consider wiring up the 4-30w "smoulderer" (not really a burner with that power haha) but not before I can hear whomever can hear me.

| Hi everyone I’m new to all this and a new member to CT, I’d love my call sign to be 26DR1111 because them letters and numbers are important to me, I’m not sure how they sort out callsigns and if you can pic your own or if you get a choice, I’d love to know how they allocate them, sorry I’m such a noob at this. | |

| Hello fellow buddies. Let me do an intro. The names Keats. Had a bit of a needle bender set up back in the day. Cobra 148. Bremie 200. Sigma 4 and a silver eagle. Sold it all for "chips. Anyway I wanna get back on. I live on the 5th floor in a tower block so I won't be getting another sigma 4. Was thinking of getting I silver rod or something and poking it upwards out a window at an angle? If not a good idea is there a telescope type twig? If not what's the best indoor twig. Has anybody got a decent set up to sell? A 40 40 AM FM rig to sell? Any bits I could use really. I live in London. Get me back on guys please. Happy Tuesday folks. | |

Hi Keats, welcome to the CTDX group, you may want to start your own threads as your a bit lost at the bottom of two old threads from other people. A mag mount on a biscuit tin in the window may get you out of trouble or if you have a balcony a mount on that would be better. Have a look in the for sale section for kit. 73s Steve.
