Hi.

No, didn't get any replies or offers or recommendations.  Seems like Manchester is devoid of antenna installers.  Tried a couple of satellite installers, but not one of them knew what a soldering iron was never mind how to use one.

I'd do it myself but am incapacitated due to arthritis.  If you come across anyone competent enough, please forward me their details.

You could fit the pl259 yourself then the sat installer would only need to fit it and tape it up.
I know the feeling i also am disabled so my antenna's are not mounted an much Hight but work.

Antenna installers don't know how to do anything other than TVs and Sky dishes. If you want radio gear installing you need to go to a company that specialises in commercial VHF and UHF repeaters and the like. Unfortunately you're likely to find it costs much more. I'd be inclined to see if the local amateur radio club could help out.

I had a m8 years ago who was a scaffolder and he used to fit any new aerial i got and i changed it many times.
I would fit the pl and tape it up and he would just walk up the ladder and up the roof like it was just a footpath lol.
Changed many as i was the local rig doctor back then and the local cb shop used to give me any new aerial to try out but it also sold them for him as if i had it it must be good lol  well that is how some people thought.
I did get some good ones had a stash in the shed.

Not many Rig Doctors or CB shops around nowadays, sadly.

Cheers for the reply.
