My Names Mike Im from Warwick in the Midlands. I have recently got back into CB having found some of my old gear out of the loft. A few different mobile radios including 2 midlands and a maycom. with springer antennas. i used to have a 1/2 wave silver rod but probably long gone. Looking to spend some money on new gear to get seriously back into it.
I know its probably a bit cheeky but if it's not already reserved id like CT8103 if I could as its my birth year and month.
Hello to all the CT community looking forward to hearing some of you on my radio

Gary,
Thank you so much i hope to learn many new things from all the members. The last time I had the CB out it was still licensed. A long time ago. Hope to catch you on the radio as soon as the new bits of kit I've ordered arrive and set up.

You are welcome, Mike.
73s is what you would say to the other radio operator before you sign off, at the end of a contact. It is basically wishing someone well. It is radio speak for "all the best."

You are welcome, Mike. in the old days of cb it would have been 10/10.

I wasn't that well versed in CB codes back then I would have been about 14 lol. Ive just purchased a CRT 6900N so I can get in on the side bands but have to look into all the frequencies as I want to stay legal and not drift into Ham bands. I was going to get a silver rod for home base stuff. Still not decided what to go for for the care either. Maybe running 2 Sirio mini snakes Open to suggestions but still looking through all the options.

Good stuff, Mike. You will soon pick it up. If you put "11m ssb dx" into YouTube it will give you a good idea of what is involved.

Cheers Steve i need to pick up some DX first need an antenna I only have springers at the moment. They are ok but not the best for mobile, but if I want to have a back and forth at home not a chance. Im sure I'll get something soon

You'll get there Mike, it takes time to build a decent mobile and homebase set up, research and reviewing will save you time and money. Also think about what you want from the hobby and always try to get the best kit you can afford from connectors and coax to PSU's, radios and amplifiers. Try and future proof yourself where possible, but above all have fun. 73s
