Well done Neal!
Bet you were well chuffed.
Nicely done with your QRP and loft antenna, goes to show what can be achieved.

Thanks both. It was like my first time all over again. Very happy
I suppose QRP on 27/81 is technically 0.4W though Victor, but compared to the huge power outputs I heard quoted by many people on that block today I think my 10W qualifies as

Don't knock it Neal, 10W definitely counts as QRP in my book.
Besides, there's some that say they're running 'barefoot' straight out the back of the rig........not hard when some rigs kick 100W straight out!
Really chuffed for you mate, it's always a buzz.

UKFM open again today. I had quick threesome with a one operator in Germany and one in southern Ireland using same setup as yesterday.
There Church services coming through an ch 1, 3, and 5. I heard of Churches using 27MHz for broadcasting services, but this is definitely not around here. Be interested to know if anyone else hears them and know the origins. It's not like I can QSK them, is it?

Thank you Phil for the link. That I think explains it as Ireland as well as other close countries have swamped the whole band for much of the day.
And what a day, especially this evening, as I am sure many of the rest of you can agree. I spent most of it on UKFM and a little on the CEPT/EU. I did crank up the power on the rig to it's max at times though, which is rare for me, but think I can be forgiven for running 40W when stations were running KWs.. one even quoted 4KW One in Newcastle bled over the top 5 UK channels down here in the south!
I have a notebook full of contacts inc some CTs in the north of England and Ireland, the first being 26CT2936.. thanks Mark.
Hope everyone else managed to make some great contacts via the awesome propagation today? Personally I am feeling very happy and exhausted at the same time
