Hi all,

Just wanted to share a video I came across recently which, if I have to be honest, brought me to tears filled with joy.
(Yeah, soft old git I am! Very Happy)

10 year old Elsie M7ELC making a 10m contact - which for me and I'm sure you'll agree, was a fantastic QSO.

(Elsie only passed her Foundation about a month ago too!)

From me it's big applause to young Elsie and a congratulations to her doting Dad Simon M0YKS, who has obviously influenced and fully supported his Daughter on her Amateur Radio quest. Ham Radio inspiration? 1f44d

Always good to see a new generation being handed the 'baton' and who in their right mind could condone the examination system when it allows opportunities like this.

All the best,
Victor

Ah that's great! Hopefully she keeps with it. And well done to the dad too bet he was really pleased.

If I ever get round to having kids and if they want to take an interest in radios then I'll be more than happy to help them out. But got other hobbies I want then to try too. (Want to try and get them in to motorbikes first, might be able to get the next best motogp star lol)

Ey up lads, glad you enjoyed it. Smile

Did and still does raise a heartfelt smile.

Tim, my grandchildren think they've got the coolest grandparents ever.......because we ride on a motorcycle!
(OK, now a maxi-scooter but still two wheels! Wink)

You can never have too many hobbies, they love the radio room, the guitars, the workshop, the lathe, the wood carvings.......
Now and then it makes them raise their heads from the phones & tablets too!!! Very Happy

Thought a good news vibe story might perk things up. It did for me.

All the best.

All ways a good thing to keep the kids off and away from their phones and tablets, the lathe is some thing I badly miss from my child hood, despite working for one of the biggest machine tool companies in Europe many years ago, what I miss most is my Grandads Myford Super 7 that I used at every chance, I even used it to make antenna parts back in my orginal CB days. Simple parts like alloy end caps for the tops of my Silver Rod antenna and mounting mast parts, even mounts for SO connectors etc, those was the days...
