I'm Roger, long time operator but had a break for some years, still got my old radios from the 80's and am ready to get back on the air. Antennas are planned and ready to go up very soon.
If you could allocate me a call that would be appreciated

Roger, you have come to the right place if being happy is your thing, anything relating to antennas, transceviers, frequencies, etc that relates to 11m or 10m there are some very knowledgable chappies who will gladly pop in and point you in the right direction if your stuck. Personally i know everything about everything according to my wife (although i fear that she said that as a joke or vailed sarcasm) so feel free to ask me anything and i'll check with the wife to see what she says !!!
As others have pointed out, welcome to the CT family, as far as i am concerned your a future hero owing a FT747GX, my mate had one and we used it at the radio club on our RAF base with the call G3KQB many years ago. I remember turning the VFO quickly to jump up the band and literally burned 1.5mm off the end of my index finger with the damn thing !! The only VFO tuning dial made of the same material as my brake pads.........
Cheers Ady. The 747 is a survivor from my early days, shame that I sold off some others but no regrets. I did a fair amount of low signal VHF dx in the 80's and 90's and neglected lower frequencies for a while. I'm back now and today I concreted in the base for the HF mast. With a bit of luck I should be back on the air within a week or so.
