Having just worked SX200CJO on 28 FT8 during my mid morning break at the office using the station at home I was curious whether anyone operates remotely in any form.

Not yet, still putting together the Shack, almost, almost, set up a temporary 2m SSB Station here to join a local Salop ARS Sked, but so far nothing is up, and we're having a lot of landscaping done here whilst we had the builder/landscaper on site.
Interested in JS8Call though, used to do PSK31 and ALE in the past.

No. It's crossed my mind though.. missing so many brief 10m openings when at work during the day. I don't think I would get any work done though if I had access to it there

I'm doing remote operating in bitesize chunks. Long term I may set up a station somewhere quiet and remote, but for now it's just experimenting and a bit of fun.
Stage 1 is simply using wsjt-z for FT8 which controls my rig perfectly and a resonant antenna as I don't have an ATU that would work without physical intervention - yet. Power is controlled using WiFi smart plugs and I access my PC using Chrome remote desktop so that means I can be on any remote device that will run Google Chrome.
I'm not away from home much at the moment but I am thinking ahead to the Es season on 50MHz and I don't want to miss any openings should I be sat in the garden/park/pub etc
OK, I'm limited to digimodes but that is fine for now, stage 2 can look at voice modes etc.

Flexradios really shine when it comes to this. Other than any network delays there's no difference between using them remote and in your shack.
