Hi Everyone,
I am currently looking into purchasing a radio and antenna which will cover the CB frequency.
What would you recommend? I am looking at the SS9900 is that a good starter radio?
Also what antenna would you recommend. Bearing in mind I already have to antennas already installed at my QTH.
Thanks for all your help
Chris

The ss9900 is a good radio but too fiddly for my fingers. I like the 6900 does all the stuff the 9900 does i think but i found it easier to use. What aerials do you have up already ?. The old silverod does the job for not a lot of cash but then you get the skipmaster and the likes but a lot more cash.

Hi Alan,
Thank you for your reply. I currently have an HF 360 in the garden for the amateur bands and the X50 for the 2m/70cm.

LOL i didn't notice you call. Have the 360 myself and have used it on the 11m band through a tuner once but that was only local with a m8 who wanted to test his radio. I did have the skipmaster on that pole before the 360 and did some dx on that and it worked well i think. I also have the 991a well had 2 at one time but sold one to get the ic-7300.

Ah just noticed your licenced. I like the 991a only downside is its menu driven. I fancy the ic-7300 and I plan to change the 360 to something else I get a lot of noise on the bands.
