Hi, my name is Morven. QTH Kendal in Cumbria.
Quite new to all of this. I had a scanner back in the day. CB radios in the trucks I drove and more recently I’ve become addicted to a cb app. There are a lot of enthusiasts on there who have talked me round into buying some new kit so I am looking forward to getting that fitted in the next few weeks and getting into the REAL thing again. I would very much like a call sign. And any tips or advice would be greatly received. I’m a long distance driver in the uk.
Many thanks
Victor CT Directors

Hi Morven,
Welcome to Charlie Tango.
There's nothing better than fellow enthusiasts keen to talk you into going further with your radio adventures. I wish you well with it all and if I could only give one advice tip that would be to simply enjoy yourself.
Call signs are usually issued most days so keep an eye on this posting for when admin responsible allocate one for you.
All the best, Victor

Good morning guys. Thanks for the warm welcome. Looking forward to listening and learning. I’ve been told I need to improve on my cb lingo!

No worries there Morven.
"CB Lingo" seems to be dependant on who you're talking to!!
All becomes a bit confusing what with old style 10-codes, (which not many use nowadays, again depending on where you are), common Q-code usage and of course call sign use instead of and/or 'handles'.
Each to their own I suppose and as long as we're getting on air communicating with one and another then it's all good.
Just enjoy it all, the rest will come about naturally as you explore your radio path.
All the best to you, Victor

Welcome to the Charlie Tango DX Forum. I am very new myself!
There's nothing better than fellow enthusiasts - keep chatting to them!
Old style 10-Codes, Common Q-Codes, Call Signs and/or 'Handles' - I agree: each to their own. Yes, as long as we're getting On Air and communicating with one another then it's all good. Even listening in is a good activity while doing something else. I have a scanner and its good to listen while I take the dog for a walk
Simply enjoy it all and explore your own "Radio Path".
What equipment and what set up do you have now ? All the best, Skip

Hey. Thanks for your kind words. I’m proper excited after my last 7/8 months on the cb app. Chatting with ‘proper’ cb users has got me really interested. I’m a truck driver so get around the country a bit. Already got a lot of help and assistance behind me but you can never have enough!! Items in my shopping basket include a President Richard, Sirio Performer 5000 and a mag mount. Had a very expensive month so just holding back a couple of weeks. All I have currently is the app. But if it wasn’t for that, I wouldn’t be here!
Cheers Morv
