A colleague is looking for recommendations on a morse reader, preferably stand-alone rather than a computer programme. A hearing defect prevents copying by ear so a reader is the only option.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

He may well not be in luck. To be honest, even the software options are sadly lacking with probably MRP being the best of the bunch.
There's not much standalone equipment but I did spot this on Amazon https://www.amazon.co.uk/Reader-Decoder-Translator-DC7-12V-Essential/dp/B083DCR816 and for £20 it may be worth a punt, but there are no reviews.

I think you’re right. He’s an avid CW operator and, despite his age, still likes to go out portable; that’s why a stand-alone unit rather than a computer programme would be best.
I had thought of the Wolfwave from SOTABEAMS since it has some audio processing to help with hearing issues as well as having morse decoding - maybe between the two he can get a working system.
