Hi all,
I’m a middle aged SWL from the UK midlands. Love receiving some of the more technical forms of radio like WESAT, NAVTEX, SSTV and RTTY and enjoy building my own home brew SW radios especially Regen Sets. More recently I’ve gotten into CB radio and I’ve currently got an Midland Alan 42 DS, in the car a Midland M5 and for DX various HF comms receivers (and a new fangled SDR reciever) at home fed from a long wire antenna.
I’m planning to sit my foundation exam, for many a year now I’ve fancied studying for the radio ham license as I was always fascinated by listening to the amateur bands on HF and on 2 metres over the years.
Please may I also apply for a CT callsign…..

Welcome to Charlie Tango.
Great introduction there with a wide range of radio interests keeping you occupied. Got to admit that I love regenerative receivers myself for their superb capabilities from such a simple circuit and built many myself.
You do sound like an ideal candidate for gaining your Amateur Radio licence and I wish you luck with it all.
First things first, if you can complete your profile as per the instructions on this forum section this will assist admin responsible for allocating you a call sign. When this is done call signs are usually allocated most days so keep an eye on this posting for when you receive one.
If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask on the forum.
