Hi all, I'm Phil from West Lavington, 5 miles South of Devizes. Started on CB back in 1981 on a WT2 2 channel handset (14 & 30) and walked around the neighborhood making contacts. After a while I upgraded to a Harvard 410T 40 channel handset. Then after getting the bug I got my first rig which was a Fidelity 2001 and a 18' center fed dipole then shortly after that bought a Ham International Concorde 2 with the legal FM channels board modification installed. Still have both the mobile rigs and after 30+ years in the loft they still work today. Now I have just got back into the hobby and I'm running the SS6900 v7 and a K-PO mic shooting out of a Sigma Venom 5/8 wave Silver rod mounted on a 20' mast.
Would love to ask to be accepted for a CT callsign as it appears everybody I hear is a Charlie Tango and I think it's time to leave my CB handle BBM behind and make new contacts.
73's
Phil.

Hi Steve, Thanks for the welcome. I'm looking forward to making new contacts once I get my call sign issued. My village is quite low down in a dip but I have been receiving continentals clear as a bell (already thinking of upgrading to a beam). And the 27.305 I can faintly hear the guys over in London 75 miles away as the crows fly.
Regards
Phil
