Hi, Ive just brought a new ranger superstar 3900, Unfortunately i cant switch the roger bleep off, Is it easy to disable it, Any info would be much appreciated.

Hi Steve, I've got a ss3900 and its the 3rd button on the top labelled RB-EC , this has to be turned off in the down position.. hope this helps

Hi Mick and thanks but im affraid no buttons on top or any saying RB-EC, I think its a slightly different rig and just reading page 13 of the manual it says with built in roger bleep, So i think its going to have to be disabled from inside, Reply appreciated mate thankyou.

No Problem steve, you must have the latest version with the built in frequency counter.

I see now, yours is the MK1 Export 11-meter, has it got the 40 uk board in it you usually access it on band E with the NB/ANL and TONE button in the up position. I use mine with a frequency counter to make it a lot easier to navigate as mine doesn't have a UK FM fitted. Nice radios though.

Lol i think im with it now, No idea it was the Mk1 to be honest mick, I asked for the export mod to be done, It does cover the UK40 not that i use that part of the band so main operating will be 26.965 to 27.700 and maybe have a tat down on the lower frequencies, Yep i think its definatly and inside job.

to disable the bleep you have to cut j9 its a jumper wire...hope this helps fella.

Just desolder one end of J9 and lift it from the board. Much easier to put the radio back to standard that way.
