Hi All,
It seems like so many other members here, I got my first CB radio in 1981 as soon as CB become legal in the UK. In fact, I still have my original Amstrad 901 and power supply but both need of some love.
I have always had a passion for radio but, again, like so many others left CB when the idiots became so prevalent that it just wasn't worth the hassle. After a long break I returned to radio in the form of amateur. I still play HAM, and, whilst interesting, it's just never seemed as 'fun' as the CB I remember.
So, inspired by 'Fred in the Shed' and several other CB focused YouTube channels I had a browse on eBay... put a VERY cheeky bid on a President KcKinley not expecting to win... and, well, here I am
My kit is now all set up but not a single contact on 27 yet
I would be honoured if you would assign me a CT callsign.
Thanks and 73's
Andy

Hi Andy,
Welcome to Charlie Tango.
Also a big welcome back to CB! It certainly does sound like you have a similar story to tell like so many members here at CT.
I've used my admin privileges to ensure your profile is complete to prevent any problems with admin issuing you a call sign.
Keep an eye on this posting for when our admin Gary comes along to allocate you over the coming days.
Stick with it despite lack of contact on your McKinley so far as CB users are spread much further afield than they were back in 19-clickety-click. Always worth a scan about those SSB frequencies to catch less 'local' contacts but we have had some fun propagation this summer which can only get better as we ramp up the next solar cycle.
All the best, Victor
