Hi all. My name is Paul from Merseyside and I used to be a breaker back in the early and late 80's. I had a brief return in the late 90's but that was short lived. Been drawn back into it after discovering SSB is now legal. I Never had the funds back in the day to afford a multimode rig and always wanted to give it a try, so here I am now with a McKinley (un-snipped) and a 5/8 silver rod (still to put up), though currently using a cheap mobile on an upside down metal dustbin in the attic (all the biscuit tins are bloody plastic these days ). I'm almost good to go. Only thing missing is a callsign and I would love to be part of the Charlie Tango family.

Your profile is complete ready for call sign allocation so just keep an eye on this posting for when our admin Gary comes along to issue you one.
I hope you enjoy your return to the airwaves with your new McKinley and you get that 5/8ths up as quick as you can. Biscuit tins (and dustbin lids ) were the order of the day back in 19-clickety-click but that bigger antenna won't half help you nowadays.
Have fun.
All the best, Victor

Hello and welcome Paul. I was over by your QTH the other week . Not far from the Safari park , buying some radio gear.
Nice bloke, shame he was packing in.
I remember Prescot was called "crushed baby" back in the day on CB
I'll keep an ear out for you from sunny Wales
