Subject: Conductive anti seize grease Tue Nov 15, 2022 8:42 pm
Taken down my Hustler 6btv for a check and clean of the joints etc. I used to have a tube of conductive anti seize grease that I used when I first erected the antenna, it was good stuff but just seemed to get everywhere. I ended up like the tin man, there wasn't much left so I disposed of the left overs. Has anyone used a similar product that they would recommend? I was wondering about copper ease or the grease used with aluminum cylinder heads to stop the spark plugs seizing?

Hi Richard,
Long time no hear and hope you are well.
"Innov Conductaseal" comes highly recommended but I know that DX Engineering also recommend copper seal so take your choice. The first is available from most radio outlets and of course you can pick up copper seal just about anywhere.
It is messy stuff though, keep a clean rag handy to clean off excess or do as I do and nick the roll of kitchen towel without the missus knowing.
All the best, Victor

Hi Lionel,
When needs must.
I'm not sure about copper 'slip' or it's conductivity I'll have to go check. I know the spray stuff is pretty useless no matter what you're using it on.

Well a quick check shows that 'copper slip' isn't electrically conductive at all. (?)
Whereas the copper seal recommended for the Hustler is conductive and I know the Innova Conductaseal as the name suggests is conductive also.
Might be worth double checking any product before purchasing.

Where rubber gloves with that copper stuff it's messy. Denso tape is what i use but then i only need to wrap the plugs.

Thanks for all of the replies and info. Gloves definitely this time. Will go online and order this morning. I have a roll of denso tape, had it for many years and as you say ideal for wrapping plugs. I remember many years ago when I was a youngster we had a gas leak at home and I am sure the gas man used denso tape wrapped around the pipe to seal the leak!

Just an update - I have ordered Innov Conductaseal. Looking around Moonraker seemed to have the best price and p&p. Should arrive tomorrow. Thanks Victor for the heads up on this product. Searching on Copper ease/slip etc found so many variants and makes you wonder if they are all kosha. All the main radio and antenna dealers sell the conductaseal (now I know what it is called).
