| What does it do ?. I would just take the top section off as it looks to have a joint. Had the same radio back in the 80s would love another just to go on my nostalgia shelf. The one i had i did the mod to put super low to super high in and built the radio into an old tv cabinet. | |

| Looking again is it a band select. Should be fitted where the A/B switch it. Need someone with patience to relocate it i think. | |

| Hi Ian, Firstly, I've edited your posting to comply with the forum rules regards the use of inappropriate language so if we can keep it to a PG-13 level that would be fine. Charlie Tango Forum RulesIt looks like someone has installed a band switching arrangement to swap out the mixing crystal for the Phase Locked Loop. Not the most elegant solution I've ever seen but that's pretty much what it is to give you extra channels. (Believe you me I've seen worse!) As regards your initial enquiry regarding component values the following link provides a schematic/circuit diagram that may be of assistance :- https://www.rigpix.com/cbfreeband/colt_excaliburssb_model1200_manual.pdf It looks like the board is the same as yours so may prove useful. It seems like a fair bit of work is going to be required to bring it back to original condition but unfortunately that seems to be the nature of the beast with a lot of these older radios. (Twiddle, twiddle. ) I can only wish you good luck with it all. All the best, Victor CT Admin | |

| What does the A/B knob do now anything. When i had mine i changed the A/B for a 6 position switch/selector. I would spend a few hours re-posioning that one on the top to where the A/B one is | |
