Are you using the internal SWR meter or an external. Not sure if the internal ones are that good. Best trying an external. Also is the SWR higher at one end of the band than the other.

Drjekyll,Don’t panic you just need to adjust a few things. First has your external SWR got a power meter too,Sey the power to 4 watts by adjusting the RF Power dial and Keying up for a short time. You said the SWR was reading 2 and was that also 2.1 on your internal SWR on the radio. You most probably know this but did you calibrate the SWR meter etc.I don’t use the muppets but as you do what are the SWR readings on channel 1 and channel 40. As Alan Pilot asked. Tom. 26CT4029

My 9900 internal SWR reading is pretty much the same as my external one. You can leave it on permanent and it won't transmit if too high
Here's a good way of testing an external SWR for accuracy.

I just noticed that,The 9900 internal SWR meter is pretty bang on when compared with an external one.I just use one externally for the power meter input/output.I’m sure once Drjekyll finds out which channel is higher/lower he’ll adjust the antenna to match. Tom.
