Hello my names Darn from 4 miles south of Belfast co.antrim. I've just got back into radio after a 35 year absence. Alot has changed lol , Ive have a crt 9900 home base on a silver rod and an old retro major 588 mobile. Ive been skipping about and have realised a call sign helps in getting contact so a call sign would be good.. 0511 would be brilliant if that could be used but either way I'm easy I hope all are good and we get a contact when that skip comes a skipping in .. 73s Darn

Hello and hows is it going boys, thank you for the warm welcome. I'm pretty excited about my discovery of a past hobbie ( well more a necessity back on the 80s) Got the old major fired up bit without a frequency metre I'm like a child stubbling about the airwaves. Waiting on the arrival of the crt 9900 and a silver rod hopefully today fingers crossed. Thank you for the call sign number perfect 511 What is the meaning behind the 68 As in 68 ct 511 .. Hello Darn,
Yes the 68 is Northern Ireland division. Many people drop it for local contacts so just CT511 when chatting local but for DX it's always the full call sign.
